Background
Dr Stephen Patten

Dr Stephen Patten established his General Practice surgery in Castlebar in August 2010. He qualified as a doctor in 2001 from King’s College London, and completed his GP training in York, England in 2005. He moved home to Ireland the same year.

Dr Patten is on the Specialist Register of the Irish Medical Council, registration number 254575. He is enrolled on the ICGP Professional Competence Scheme.

Qualifications

Dr Patten holds the following Professional Qualifications:

  • MBBS (2001) University of London. Medical Bachelor, Bachelor of Surgery

  • MRCGP (2004) Member of the Royal College of General Practitioners UK

  • MICGP (2007) Member of the Irish College of General Practitioners

  • DOWH (2009) Diploma in Obstetrics and Womens Health, Royal College of Physicians Ireland.

  • CC (2010) Certificate in Contraception, ICGP

 

Our General Practice in Castlebar

The practice continues to belong to the UCD Merit project, which enhances GP skills in cardiac, trauma and paediatric care.

Dr Patten is the GP for students of the GMIT Mayo campus during term time and has very established relationships with the college counsellor and chaplain.

Out of hours care (after 5pm) is by WESTDOC.
